Macintosh Sign up for Delphi Online Service
Delphi can give you direct connect service to the Internet where you can browse
the Web. Delphi also gives you direct contact with an dynamic Macintosh and
Apple II user community online. Friendly discussion forums, software libraries
and Internet access. You not only have access to online files, but you're a
member of a group where you can discuss your needs and request assistance. This
is a warm, enthusiastic group of helpful folks waiting for you to ask for
assistance (They actually thrive on questions asked by new users, so be kind to
them -- ask LOTS of questions ;-)
Set up as a new Delphi customer:
(Also see the enclosure for Delphi sign-up in the ProTERM package.)
Signup for Delphi Online service
1. Drag the dial file named "Delphi" from its present location, and drop
it on the ProTERM > Services folder. This places the Delphi dial file
directly in the ProTERM Connect menu.
2. Choose "Rebuild" from the ProTERM Connect menu.
3. Choose "Delphi" from the ProTERM Connect menu.
4. Have a credit card ready.
5. Click the Connect button to dial Delphi. ProTERM will call Delphi and
9. Follow the online signup instructions to set up your account.
After entering all of the requested information,
you will see this message:
Please enter OK when ready to continue: ok
10. After the requested information is entered, Delphi will provide you
with your own personal user identification information; password and
local access phone number for use in all subsequent calls.
11. After the disconnect, choose Delphi from the ProTERM Connect menu,
and replace 800 phone number with the phone number just obtained from
following the above steps. If needed, change the Speed to match your
setup for calling Delphi.
<>IMPORTANT: The Delphi Intro file used above is set up to call the 800
new customer area and log in automatically. Since you will not be
call that part of Delphi now, you will need to make a change in the
ProTERM dial style file before calling back.
12. With the Delphi dial style window open, click the "Logon" radio
button at the top of the window, and choose OFF.
<> Log on manually the first few times. We recommend you do this until
you get used to the log in process and find out where it is you want
to go when you call Delphi.
14. Click the Emulate radio button a the top of the Delphi dial file. Set
Emulation for Delphi to DEC VT-102 emulation. If you use a color
monitor, you may want to change how the terminal window will look.
Try changing Foreground to Blue, and Background to Lt Grey. You can
change these later to any combination you like.
15. Click the Connect button to dial. After you connect, enter your new
account and password information.
<> To automate your logon process, choose "Learn" in the "Logon Macro:"
window. Logon without making any mistakes, and when you get to the
point where you want ProTERM to take you to on all subsequent calls,
click the "LEARN" button in the AutoLearn window, and press the
RETURN key to save your new AutoLogon script. Subsequent logons will
be totally automated.
See the ProTERM user manual Index: AutoLearn macros to learn how to
create an AutoLogon Macro.
To completely automate your Delphi calls, request information about
ProTERM Mac Messenger (PTMM). PTMM is a free offline reader and
automated "front end" for use with ProTERM Mac. PTMM can be
downloaded from our Web site Macintosh page. If you would like more
information, about PTMM, send a note to: ptmm@intrec.com
